It is the policy of BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED to conduct its operations in such a way that the health and safety of its employees and others will be safeguarded, and that proper regard is paid to the protection of the environment.

All managers and line supervisors must understand their specific responsibilities for health, safety and environmental issues within the organization by ensuring that there are adequate health and safety facilities available and that the relevant safety requirements and codes of practice are known and adhered to at all times by their employees. In their absence, they will ensure that these responsibilities are correctly delegated.

These policies are enshrined into our System for the Management of Safety (SMS). SMS ensures the need for high quality services to our client and considers the Management of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) matters of equal importance with productivity. The policy and other rules and regulation in SMS encompass HSE and activities involving BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED.

It is equally the duty of all employees to exercise personal responsibility and do everything possible to protect work site environments and prevent injuries to themselves or fellow employees and all visiting third parties by observing this company safety rules and regulations. It is also employee’s duties to wear appropriate safety devices when required. The Managing Director will give full backing to this policy and will encourage and support all those who Endeavour to carry it out.

Safety Targets

Below are the strong, safety targets of BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED it includes:

1. Reducing to the barest minimum, the lost TIME INCIDENT (LTI) to about 0.5.

2. Totally make away with unsanitary and unhygienic condition in any work premises.

3. Completely eliminating ACCIDENT of ANY NATURE: via;

i. To eliminate last work cases (LNC).

ii. To achieve zero fatality.

iii. To minimize the occurrence of property damage.

iv. To ensure permanent/partial disability (PPD) – free operation.

v. To ensure permanent total disability (PTD) – free operation.

vi. To reduce traffic accidents

vii. To achieve zero (0) – free incident.

It remains the sole responsibility of every BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED employee to perform his/her work in an environmentally friendly and sound manner. It is also the policy of BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED to strongly promote and encourage awareness of and to protect and preserve the environment. Hence, to properly execute these policies, staff are advised to pay proper regard and be very observant in the working environment by acting to preserve; air, soil, plant, water and animals from the destructive effect of their actions and greatly reducing any form of nuisance which may arise from their actions on site.

It is the policy of this company to collect all waste generated during the project, these waste are treated and disposed in such a way as not to create any impact on the environment. Regular inspection shall be conducted by our environmental-quality control consultant to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED Is highly committed to ensuring that its activities do not hamper the environment of its area operations particularly as a result of project execution. We continuously monitor the impact of its operation on the environment with a view to ensuring that preventable damages do not occur and in the case of accidents palliative measures are taken.

It remain our policy to, at the end of the job, leave the working environment at the state it was met, or most near to the state it was found.

In furtherance to this, BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED hereby affirms and reiterates her total and full acceptance of the local content Objectives. Our local content strategy includes but not limited to the following

Encourage the use of made in Nigeria goods
Encourage value addition
Appropriate knowledge base/technology transfer plan
Adequate utilization of Nigerian manpower resources

We adopt the above strategies in the execution of contracts and projects

BAITE & HOOK INVESTMENT LIMITED has developed a draft training program. Expatriates shall work together with indigenous staff during all projects and periodically an independent evaluation exercise shall be conducted. Indigenous staff be exposed to training by expatriates here in Nigeria. This is to foster knowledge/technology transfer for indigenous personnel.
